How we deliver our Loose Cubic Metre of Firewood logs.
Our cubic metre loads are delivered loose tipped out of a cubic metre bag from either one of our pick-up trucks or their attached trailer as seen below. We offer Free delivery over £50 up to 10 miles radius please see the delivery page for more information on delivery areas including delivery map and a list of places we deliver to.
We store & transport the logs in their special ventilated bags however we deliver the logs loose as seen in the picture below. One cubic metre fits on the pick-up truck and a further three cubic metres fit on the trailers.
We take a maximum of four cubic metres out at a time.
We use a pick up truck & trailer that both have hydraulics rams that tip. The bags are chained into the vehicle so when tipped up the bag falls over to the back of the pickup/trailer and the logs fall out leaving you with a pile of logs to stack into your logs store. (Jake has designed a clever system which allows one bag to be tipped at a time on the trailer)
We deliver the logs loose as we believe that this is best practice to reduce the impact of plastic waste for the environment. Once delivered your logs should be stored in a well ventilated location see post on how to store your logs. We re-use the ventilated log bags up to 10 times rather than the customers ending up with various log bags that they cannot use and go to landfill in the black bins.
The logs can be tipped as near to your store/desired location as our vehicle/trailer can get. Jake is very confident in his trailer reversing capabilities with most customers having their logs dropped from the trailer.
If access to your driveway is narrow and we are not able to deliver with the trailer than we can specify your logs are on the pickup truck. This is the customers responsibility to tell us when ordering if you have narrow access or Jake has said he can only deliver with the pick-up truck due to narrow access.
If we are not informed you need the pick-up truck then the logs could be on the trailer and will be tipped as near to your driveway/desired location as the trailer can get to.
How we deliver our Barrow bags of firewood logs.
We replaced the collection service by offering delivery of the Barrow bags of logs instead.
The logs are being delivered in their bags so they will be protected from the weather. Customers therefore will not need to be present for barrow bag deliveries, Although payment will be required upfront in this scenario.
We do however ask that you return them to us on our next delivery to reduce the impact of plastic waste in the world as we can reuse them.
How long after ordering my logs will they be delivered?
We will always contact you prior to your delivery either by phone or email to arrange a time and date.
We will always try to deliver your logs when is convenient, we suggest you order 1-2 weeks in advance of running out of firewood to ensure we can deliver at a convenient time.
We deliver 6 days a week, Saturday being one of our busiest days. Most deliveries will be booked within 1-7 days of ordering. During busier Winter periods it can take us slightly longer to deliver.
We provide a 2 hour time slot for deliveries (8-10am / 10-12noon/ 12-2pm / 2-4pm/ 4-6pm)
Occasionally we also will deliver 6-8pm in busy periods if needed.
Do I have to be home when the delivery is made?
If you have pre-paid for your logs through the website or via a BACs payment and informed us of a delivery location on your property then we are happy to deliver if you are not at home. However if it is your first order of a cubic metre given the logs are delivered loose we do prefer that the customer be present to prevent the logs being tipped in the wrong place.
